Police to move court for accused’s polygraph test

ROHTAK: The Sonepat police will seek permission of judicial magistrate on Tuesday to conduct a polygraph test of the two school employees, who were accused by of gangraping a girl student in anonymous letters sent to Prime Minister Na rend ra Mo di and the local police.

The student of Om Public School in Gohana had written in her letter that school clerk Sukhbir and accountant Karambir sexually assaulted her on several occasions and gang raped he rina local hotel. She has not come forward as of now to register her statement in front of magistrate.

The two accused have been booked for rape and detained by police, who will seek the court’s permission for their polygraph test.

“We have not got any clue on the complainan­t so far. Since this is a serious matter, we don’ t want to leave any lapses in investigat­ion. The polygraph test will help us in knowing the truth. If the court allows, we may go ahead with the test on Tuesday only,” Go han aSH OKul deep Singh told HT.

He said the police are trying to locate the origin of the anonymous letter, which they had received through a local media office. He said school students were on Monday given counsellin­g by experts to come forward if they know any details in the case.

The police also searched for records of any girl students who night have quit the school recently.

Meanwhile, the school management has shrugged off the allegation calling it a conspiracy of their competitor­s to de fame the name of their institute.

However, other parents are demanding that the school be reopened as the accused has already been arrested and the studies of their children is being affected due to the closure of the school.

The director of The Millennium School, Rita Kaul, has already removed the principal and urged the parents to allow the school to conduct the pending exams which were stalled after the incident.

“We helped the police to arrest the accused, provided CCTV footage, allowed SIT to conduct the probe and even removed the principal. But now some parents are demanding the arrest of the principal, which is wrong ,” K au ls aid while talking to HT.

“I have also conducted an internal investigat­ion and found that the principal was being targeted due to the old issue of fee hike,” she added.

Parul Dhamija, a parent said, “The accused should have been punished, but holding protests at the school gate is is not justified as it is affecting the studies of thousands of students.”

Another worried parent, Rashmi Kwatra, said, “The protest is now going in the wrong direction and more than 50% of the parents are against as some people are using this platform for their vested interests.”

However, the Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (HSCPCR), after its investigat­ion, has recommende­d to the police to arrest of the principal.
