Six arrested for trespass, opening fire in Tarn Taran

AS PER VILLAGERS, THE ACCUSED TRESPASSED INTO A HOUSE AND OPENED FIRE WITH AN INTENTION TO KILL THE FAMILY LIVING THERE

TARN TARAN: The Chohla Sahib police have booked 11 persons for allegedly opening fire and wreaking havoc after trespassin­g into a house at Chamba Kalan village here on Sunday.

They arrested five accused on Monday.

Others are still at large.The arrested people are Lakhbir Singh of Kirtowal, Harpreet Singh of Asal, Gurwinder Singh of Piddi, Rajcharan Singh of Shabpura, Gurpal Singh of Chambal. The absconders are Sa winder Singh, Dr Sat pal Singh, Gurmeet Kaur.

The identity of three others is yet to be ascertaine­d. As per villagers, the accused opened fire for 10-11 times. In his complaint, Shingara Singh, 43, of Chamba Kalan said, “I was at my house with my family, when Sawinder and Satpal trespassed.”

They started firing indiscrimi­nately with their country-made pistol and .12 bore riffle, respective­ly.

As the neighbours started gathering, they fled with their weapons,” he said.

A case under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 336 (act endangerin­g life or personal safety of others), 452 (house-trespass after preparatio­n for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence in prosecutio­n of common object) of the Indian Penal Codeand25-27-54-59ofArmsAc­t has been registered against the accused.
