Anganwadi workers burn govt’s effigy

Anganwadi workers on Saturday staged two different protests against the state government’s decision to shift pre-nursery classes under the charge of Anganwadi workers to government primary schools. The workers protested under the banner of All India Anganwadi Workers’ and Helpers’ Union and All Punjab Angawadi Mulazim Union. Workers of one union had also planned to march towards the office of Punjab finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal, but police stopped them.
