3 contractors booked for illegally digging road

Police have booked three contractors of a private telecom company in Ferozepur for illegally digging a road to lay cables. The road was recently recarpetted and when locals opposed the digging, a dispute erupted. It was found that the contractors did not seek permission to dig the road. The three have been charged with mischief by injury to public road under the Indian Penal Code. The company’s construction material has also been seized.
