AN AND P UR SAHIB: Five members of a family were feared drowned in the Bhakra canal near Jhinjri village, two-and-a-half kilometers from Anandpur Sahib, police said on Saturday.

Rajpal, 33, his wife Charno Devi, 28, and their three children were on way to a relative’s place and had left their village at around 10am on Thursday in a pick-up. They were residents of Dhanera village in Anandpur Sahib sub-division.

When they did not reach their destination, their relatives started looking for them and informed police. They could not be contacted on phone either.
