TWO SISTERS SUFFER BURN INJURIES AS BED CATCHES FIRE

AMBALA: Two sisters of Lalana village sustained burn injuries after the bed they were sleeping on suddenly caught fire suddenly in the wee hours of Saturday.

The sisters, aged 17 and 22, were sleeping on the terrace of their house when the incident took place. They had narrow escape as they managed to jump out of the bed on time. Both were rushed to a private hospital, where doctors said that the two sisters had suffered 50% burn injuries.

The police were informed after which their statement was recorded by duty magistrate Neha Yadav. Sources say that the duo told the magistrate that they were in asleep when someone poured kerosene oil on the bed and ignited it.

IO Raghubir Singh said that further action would be taken on October 3 after the receipt of the copy of the statement made before the magistrate. HTC
