Sultanpur park reopens ahead of wildlife week

GURGAON : With the Sultanpur National Park reopening on October 1, residents will be able to participat­e in wildlife week celebratio­ns from October 2 to 8.

State chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar is also set to inaugurate the operation of battery-run vehicles in the park on October 9.

This year, visitors will be treated to a photo exhibition of birds of the national park that is located 15km from the city. “We will soon start camping facility at the park as well and school children will be able to learn more about birds ,” G ur ga on conservato­r of wildlife Vinod Kumar said. People will also be able to learn about birds and wildlife monitoring programmes. The wildlife department has waived the entry fee till October 8. “With a view to spread awareness, we will conduct painting and quiz competitio­ns on wildlife for children in every district of the state,” Kumar said.
