HRERA TO BE FUNCTIONAL BY NEXT MONTH

CM ANNOUNCES TO SET UP COMMISSION TO HEAR AND SOLVE DISPUTES OF COOPERATIV­E GROUP HOUSING SOCIETIES

GURGAON: Members of the muchawaite­d Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (HRERA) would be appointed by October 31 and the body will be functional by the beginning of the next month. This was announced on Sunday by Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, who was hearing complaints at the first Janta Darbar held in Gurgaon at John Hall in Civil Lines.

Khattar told a number of aggrieved buyers, who had come to lodge complaints against the developers in various parts of Gurgaon, that their issues would be resolved in a systematic manner by the authority. “We will ensure that the authority becomes functional from next month and hear complaints against developers. Appropriat­e action will be taken under HRERA, as the act is meant to streamline the real estate sector. One can file a complaint even if the developer is no registered under RERA,” he said.

The CM on Sunday heard around 50 complaints out of the 300 registered by the district administra­tion, and directed that the rest be submitted to the DC, Gurgaon, who will file a report within 10 days.

Khattar also announced the setting up of commission to hear and solve all disputes of cooperativ­e group housing societies, while hearing complaint raised by members of Sunehara-Apna Ghar cooperativ­e society. “There are 25 cooperativ­e societies in Gurgaon and majority of these have disputes and irregulari­ties and this commission would resolve them,” he added.

After hearing the complaint regarding poor condition of Dr BR Ambedkar park in ward 13 of Farukhnaga­r, Khattar ordered that a fine of ₹1,000 per month be imposed on the officer responsibl­e for this delay.

Khattar, while hearing a plea to dig new borewell in Bhora Kalan, announced that no new tube-wells will be allowed in dark zone.

Referring to the erection of gates in Sushant Lok, the CM directed the district administra­tion to take immediate action to resolve the grievances of residents. He also said that Sushant Lok 1 and 2 would soon come under the jurisdicti­on of the MCG. “Any residentia­l area or colony can be taken up by the MCG if more than 50% of residents request for it,” he added.

200 RESIDENTS PROTEST AFTERFAILI­NG TOMEET CHIEF MINISTER

Over twohundred­Gurgaonres­idents, who had come to meet chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar at Sunday’s Janta Darbar seeking speedy redressal of their grievances got agitated and held a protest at the venue around 1pm after they came to know that CM would be leaving soon.

People started shouting slogans and erupted in protest after which the darbar was extended for over half an hour.
