Two unidentified robbers loot car at gunpoint in Phagwara
PHAGWARA: Two unidentified armed robbers looted a car at gunpoint. The car was stolen from a software engineer on the Jalandhar-Chandigarh highway near Mehli police post on Monday.
Kanav Narula, of Urban Estate in Phagwara, told police that he was going to Chandigarh by his car. When he crossed the Chandigarh bypass in Phagwara, a Hyundai Verna car overtook his vehicle and stopped in front of him.
“Two youths, in their 20s, stopped the car and pointed a gun at me. They fled with my car after pushing me out,” he said.
A police team, led by superintendent of police (SP investigation) Jagjit Singh, visited the spot for investigation.
A case was registered under Section 379B (punishment for theft) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
However, police have failed to get any breakthrough in the case so far.
“Probe is on. We are scanning CCTV footages to crack the case,” the superintendent of police said.
