65YROLD AMRITSAR MAN BEATEN TO DEATH OVER PARKING TIFF WITH NEIGHBOURS, 1 HELD

AMRITSAR: A man in his midsixties died after he was allegedly beaten by his neighbours following a tiff over parking at Angarh locality of the city on Wednesday evening.

The victim, Gurmeet Singh, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital (GNDH), Amritsar, where he was declared brought dead.

Police have arrested Bal- winder Singh after they booked him along with his brother Jasbir Singh who is absconding.

The victim’s son Kulwant Singh in his complaint said at around 8.30pm, the two brothers came outside his house and started hurling abuses them over an Activa scooter parked there.

He said when his father went out to pacify them, the two thrashed him with a baseball bat and sticks. Reports said the accused are related to the victim and the two families had frequent disputes over parking. A case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code was registered at the Gate Hakima police station.
