UNDERTRIAL MAKES BID TO ESCAPE CUSTODY

BATHINDA: An undertrial lodged in the Bathinda central jail in a rape case tried to escape from police custody from the civil hospital on Thursday. Amritpal Singh of Rai Khana village was taken to the civil hospital’s drug de-addiction centre from where he gave cops the slip and climbed atop roofs of shops. However, the cops managed to nab him with the help of locals. A case was registered against him.
