PRIVATISING EDUCATION

-

There are reports that the government may abandon the responsibility of higher education and hand it over to private players, who could sell it like a commercial commodity. Such a step will make education dearer and a distant dream for the poor and marginal sections of society. Education is along-term investment for the development of a nation and producing a civilised society. Many private institutes in the education sector will ruin the academic freedom and erode quality benchmarks and their only aim will be making money. Karan Singh Vinayak,
