CRACKER BAN UNJUSTIFIED

The Supreme Court ban on the sale of firecrackers in Delhi and the national capital region( NC R) during Diw ali is welcome in view of the pollution but ordering the ban days ahead of Diwali when traders have already built inventories or placed orders for crackers is unjustified. Who will be responsible for the losses suffered by them? The sudden loss of jobs for millions in the trade is also a concern. They should have been given ample time to turn to other occupations or make ecofriendly fireworks. HL Sharma, Amritsar
