MOGA THEFT: TWO HELD WITH FIVE STOLEN RIFLES
MOGA: With the arrest of two people, the district police claimed to have solved the gun house theft case in which unidentified people had decamped with five .12 bores double-barrel rifles after breaking into Sidhu Gun House at Baghapurana sub-division on October 8.
All the five rifles stolen from the gun shop have been recovered accused identified as Jaspreet Singh alias Kaalu of Faridkot and Babbu Singh of Baghapurana, while, the kingpin Amandeep Singh alias Amna of Faridkot is absconding.
A police team led by special staff in-charge Kikkar Singh, following the tip-off, conducted the checking at Gill village and arrested both the accused persons.
Moga SSP Raj Jit Singh said the accused were to supply these weapons to the gangster Dahiya Khan group based in Malerkotla.
“The police are conducting raids to nab the main conspirator Amna and he will be arrested soon while the police have procured four-day remand for both the accused,” he said.
Police officials said trio already faces charges of crimes like theft and rape.
A case has been registered under Sections 453 (punishment for lurking house), 380 (whoever commits theft in any building, tent or vessel), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Baghapurana Police Station.
