Meet on ‘discrimina­tion’ against Punjabi on Nov 5

FARIDKOT: In the ongoing row over Punjabi not being above Hindi and English on highway boards, NGO Bhai Kanhaiya Cancer Roko Sewa Society in Faridkot has announced to organise a statelevel ‘Maa Boli Satkar Samagham’ on November 5 to seek that the language be used on top. Gurpreet Singh Chandbaja, the NGO head, said, “We are not against any language but demand respect to ours. Noted writers and intellectu­als will join our conference.” In Faridkot and Bathinda, protesters have been painting over other languages.
