Meet on ‘discrimination’ against Punjabi on Nov 5
FARIDKOT: In the ongoing row over Punjabi not being above Hindi and English on highway boards, NGO Bhai Kanhaiya Cancer Roko Sewa Society in Faridkot has announced to organise a statelevel ‘Maa Boli Satkar Samagham’ on November 5 to seek that the language be used on top. Gurpreet Singh Chandbaja, the NGO head, said, “We are not against any language but demand respect to ours. Noted writers and intellectuals will join our conference.” In Faridkot and Bathinda, protesters have been painting over other languages.
