Traders to protest against BJP in Gujarat over GST
LUDHIANA: Industrialists in the state on Sunday said they are planning to protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in poll-bound Gujarat against Centre's policies like demonetisation and the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
They alleged that the government has failed to implement these policies in a planned manner and added that despite protests being held across the country, the Centre has a turned a blind eye.
President of All Industries and Trade Forum, Badish Jindal, said they are in touch with industrial organisations in Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi and West Bengal for the proposed protest. He added that they will also discuss the issue with trade organisations in Odishaand Madhya Pradesh.
Jindal said they have planned to campaign against the BJP in Gujarat because to the ill-effects of demonetisation and GST on industries.
General secretary of the forum, Raj Kumar Singla, said, “We don’t want to politicise the protest.”
President of Amritsar Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association, Jagmohan Singh, said their association supports the proposed protest against the saffron party.
