4 who robbed Gurgaon man of bike, money arrested
GURGAON: Four people were arrested for robbing a man of his motorcycle and money in Sector 9A and sent to jail on Sunday, the police said.
Acting on a tip-off, the personnel of Sector 9A police station on Friday nabbed four who were allegedly involved in snatching ₹22,000 and a bike from a man at gunpoint.
Following a complaint by the victim, a team was immediately rushed to the spot.
The four accused have been identified as Saabir, a resident of Palwal, Chand, a resident of Jharkhand, Shakir, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, and Bijender, of Rewari in Haryana.
A case under Section 379 A (theft) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 25-54-59 (for possessing unlicensed rifle) of Arms Act was registered.
The accused were produced before a court on Saturday and as per the court direction, sent to Bhondsi jail on Sunday.
During questioning, the accused confessed to their crime, the police said.
“We got information of the accused’s location and a team was sent to search the spot. We are scanning more cases of snatching in the area,” said Raj Pal, assistant sub-inspector, Sector 9A police station.
Cases of snatching of vehicles at gunpoint are on a rise in the city.
