HAMIRPUR BJP, CONG FACE REBEL TROUBLE

-

HAMIRPUR: The Congress and BJP are facing crisis in the district in wake of the Vidhan Sabha elections. This is despite the presence leaders, such as Sukhvinder Sukhoo (state Congress chief) and Prem Kumar Dhumal (BJP, former chief minister), in the area.

Denial of BJP ticket to Dr Anil Dhiman from the Bhoranj seat has invited strong criticism from his supporters. They have been pressurising Dr Dhiman to contest as an independent.

A group of BJP supporters are strongly opposed to granting party ticket to former MLA Baldev Sharma from the Badsar seat.

In Nadaun assembly segment, the supporters of zila parishad member Lekh Raj Sharma have opposed granting of BJP ticket to Vijay Agnihotri and have fielded Sharma as independent.

The Congress is facing similar rebellion from Bhoranj and Badsar seats. Opposing the granting of ticket to Hamirpur Marketing Board chairman Suresh Kumar, Prem Kaushal has decided to file his papers as an independent candidate from Bhoranj.

Sita Ram Bhardwaj, who was expelled from Congress, has filed his papers from Badsar seat, from where Congress has fielded MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal.
