Four arrested in Shillong for loot of ₹39 lakh from ATM

SHILLONG: Four persons were arrested by police in connection with the loot of over ₹39 lakh from an ATM kiosk in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills district, a senior police officer said on Sunday. The main accused, Vijay Debnath, an employee of a private firm engaged to deposit cash in the kiosk, was first picked up and from his rented house and the stolen money was recovered, the officer said. “We have arrested four involved in the conspiracy to loot the kiosk. Interrogation is on,” SP, West Garo Hills, R Kumar, said.
