LoC trade via Poonch to resume tomorrow: Officials
ON TRACK Decision was taken after a meeting between two sides, travel will also resume, says custodian of trade facilitation centre

JAMMU: After remaining suspended for almost four months, the trans-LoC trade and travel betweenPak-occupied-Jammu& Kashmir (PoJK) and India via Chakan-da-Bagh in Poonch district is all set to resume from Monday.
The civil administration officials from PoJK and Poonch district held a meeting for nearly an hour at the zero line in Chakanda-Bagh on Friday.
Custodian of the Chakan-daBagh trade facilitation centre, Tanvir Ahmed told Hindustan Times that officials from P oJ K led bydirectortrade andtravel,Shahid Ahmed and trade facilitation officer Nayeem Khan held the meeting and discussed various issues. “Resumption of trade and travel via Chakan-da-Bagh was discussed in the meeting while the PoJK delegation also raised the issue to increase the number of trucks from 30 to 35 per day, from both the sides,” said Ahmed.
The trade on barter system takes place four days a week from Tuesday to Friday, while travel takes place every Monday.
The trans-Lo C travel and trade between India and Pa k-occupiedJammu and Kashmir via Chakan-da-Bagh were suspended since July 10 and July 11 respectively following rising hostilities between the two countries on the line of control (LoC).
According to an estimate, the suspension since July 11 has caused losses of around ₹86 crores.
