49 new airports to be connected under UDAN
NEWDELHI: The phase two of Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) will connect 49 new airstrips. According to civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju, 141 initial proposals have been received and 502 routes are likely to be connected under RCS. Of the total proposals, 108 are for flying fixed wing aircraft and 33 for operating helicopters. “We have received encouraging response and the number if response has doubled,” Raju said.
