PATHANKOT: A wine godown in Sujanpur near Pathankot was allegedly looted on Thursday morning.

As per the complainant, two unidentified persons wearing monkey caps decamped with ₹6.25 lakh on gunpoint from his godown-cum-residence.

Godown’s owner Karan Kochar claimed that the miscreants pointed a double barreled gun on his accountants and fled in a blue-coloured Ford car with black tinted windows.

The godown is located near the Industrial Growth Centre. Kochar claimed that he was sleeping at his residence on the first floor when the incident took place.

He alleged that his accountants, Harjit and Surjit, informed him about the loot after which, he rushed to the godown and saw the robbers fleeing in a car towards the main road.

He said that the accountants told him that they opened the door after hearing a knock thinking that it was him (Kochar). However, the miscreants pointed a gun at them.

He further alleged that on last Saturday, his employees had claimed that their cash vehicle was shot at on a tyre after which, they had met with an accident, but the police suspected some doubts over their story. Kochar said it was probably the same robbers who succeeded in their intent the second time.

Meanwhile, DSP Kuldip Singh and SHO KP Singh said that they initiated investigation and were quizzing the accountants. “Let us record their statements before reaching to any conclusion,” they said.

A case has not been registered yet.
