Gosain murder: NIA begins probe, quizzes accused
LUDHIANA: The National Investigating Agency (NIA) on Saturday initiated a probe into the murder case of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Ravinder Gosain, with its team interrogating UK nationals Jimmy Singh and Jagtar Singh Johal alias Jaggi, who are in the custody of Ludhiana police on remand.
The team also inspected the spot in the city where he was shot dead. It also visited the place where the motorcycle used by the assailants was found abandoned.
The NIA officials reached Gagandeep Colony in Kailash Nagar of Basti Jodhewal and called on the family members of the slain RSS leader. The team gathered details about the incident from the family. It also visited the RSS ‘shakha’.
Deep ak Kumar, son of Go sa in, said the team asked for basic details about his father and his routine.
Deepak added that the family wanted to see the accused arrested by the police, but they were not allowed to do so.
Gosain was shot dead outside his residence on October 17 by two masked assailants.

Meanwhile, the Ludhiana police brought Jimmy Singh, a UK national, accused of targeted killings in Punjab, on production warrant after a local court had sent him in judicial custody. The division number 8 police got his custody for one day for questioning in connection with the killing of Shri Hindu Takht leader Amit Sharma, who was gunned down on January 14.
Jimmy was earlier in the custody of Basti Jodhewal police for questioning in the Gosain murder case.
The Basti Jodhewal police also brought hit men Ram an deep Singh alias Ramandeep Canadian and Hardeep Singh alias Shera on production warrant from Faridkot jail on Saturday in this connection.
