SHIMLA : After the army colonel, who was arrested for allegedly raping a fellow colleague’s daughter, was sent to three-day remand on Thursday, police are now investigating the role of the ‘third person’ as mentioned by the victim in her statement before magistrate.

She, however, did not accuse him of rape.

The victim said that there was another person present at the colonel house at the time of incident.

“There was one more person whom colonel called‘ Guru ’,” said the victim in her statement.

The police will be sending the samples to forensic lab to assess whether the sexual assault took place or not.

The 21-year-old woman, an adopted daughter of a Lt Col, had filed a police complaint against Colonel GS Grewal on Tuesday after which he was arrested on Wednesday.

A case was registered against him after preliminary investigations.

The victim whose statement was recorded on Thursday had alleged that she was forced to consume liquor before the incident on Monday.

In her complaint, she had claimed that the colonel invited her along with her father, who was also posted at the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) here, for a function in Shimla Amateur Dramatics Club.

Police sources said the victim had sent a few photos and videos to the colonel earlier besides some messages. The victim, however, claimed that the colonel asked for more pictures.
