Twin road mishaps kill 7 in Moga
MO GA: Seven people were killed in separate road accidents in Moga on Saturday.
In the first incident, five people, all labourers, were killed while six others injured after a jeep they were travelling in ram med into a tree on the Bag hap ur ana-B ha gt aB haiKa road.
The accident took place when the driver lost control over the vehicle while saving a cyclist.
The deceased have been identified as Sew a kS ingh,26,V icky ,22, Badal, 45, Hansa Singh, 55, and Jagdev Singh, 28. Gursewak Singh, Sahib Singh,Ranj it Singh, Satnam Singh and Gurpreet Singh sustained injuries.
The vehicle was not insured and the driver was without a licence, said the police.
In another accident, two people were killed when a scooter collided with a motorcycle in Baghapurana.
The deceased have been identified as Ranjit Singh,50,a resident of Chandbaja village in Faridkot district, and Amritpal Singh, 22, of Hariyawala in Moga.
The accident took place on the Korowala link road due to low visibility.
