People queue up at CM’s open session, many go dissatisfi­ed

KARNA L: Hundreds of people from several districts of the state on Monday reached Karna lt oat tend the chief minister ‘khula darbar (open session) to take up their complaints but many had to return dissatisfi­ed.

Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, however, tried to resolve about 150 complaints on the spot and directed the officials concerned for an immediate redressal of their grievances.

“We waited for several hours for our turn to raise the issue of delay of three years in issuing electricit­y connection­s to residents of Karnal’s Narsi village. Though we raised the issue with the CM, we are not satisfied with the response we got from the CM and officials,” said Bhim Singh Mann, a complainan­t.

Bano from Panipat said she had come with a complaint againstthe Panipat policeforf­ail- in gt oar rest all people involved in the kidnapping of her 18- year-old daughter on November 6.

“I waited for two hours in the queue but could not interact with the CM. Later, I handed over my complaint to him. Let us see what they do,” she said.

Raj Ra ni, a widow from Model Town, Ka rn al, said she had come to raise her issue with the chief minister as the electricit­y department has sent her a bill of ₹12.17 lakhforatw­o-roomhouse.“No,I could notinterac­t withhimash­e ended the session before my turn came. I was told to submit my complaint,” she said.

Kanwar Singh, a farmer, said he had been making round soft he electricit­y department as they did not release his electricit­y connection for the past several months, “I was not allowed to speak and was told to submit the complaint. I don’t know whether they will take any action now,” he said.

Duringthet­hree-hoursessio­n, of the nearly 450 people registerin­g for redressal of their complaints , the CM could hear only one-third complaints directly and the rest of the complainan­ts were told to hand over their complaints. Most of the complaints were against the police, electricit­y department and the revenue department.
