Robbers loot over ₹7 lakh from bank in Tarn Taran
TARNTARAN: Three armed robbers on Friday looted a branch of the Axis Bank in Naurangabad village, 10 km from here. The robbers also fired two shots inside the bank before leaving.
The robbers ,who had covered their faces, looted ₹7.2 lakh at gunpoint. The incident was recorded in closed circuit television( CCTV) cameras installed in the bank but their faces were covered. The miscreants, int heir 30s, had come in a white Ford Ikon. The incident took place around 2.30 pm.
Superintendent of police (SP) Tilak Raj and in-charge of CIA staff (crime branch) Chander Bhushan, with a police team, reached the spot Tilak Raj said

Though the guard had a gun but could not use it out of fear. At the time of the robbery, there were also many customers in the bank.
The miscreants pointed guns at the bank staff and asked cash the cash available in the bank. After looting the cash, the robbe rs opened two fires—one at the bank’ s computer and another at a CCTV monitoring screen.
This is the third bank robbery during past two months in the district. On October 18, four armed robbers decamped after looting a Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch in Jamar a iv ill age ,20 km from here. The bike-borne robbers, looted ₹6,63,945 at gunpoint, after thrashing the bank staff. The Tarn Taran police had arrested the accused involved in this robbery.
