Tanwar accuses Centre of interfering with judiciary
KARNAL: Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ashok Tanwar has accused the B JP-led N DA government at the Centre of interfering with the judiciary.
“The issues being raised by the senior judges of the Supreme Court indicate interference in the judicial system and the matter should be taken up seriously,” Tanwar said while interacting with mediapersons during his visit to Karnal on Saturday.
He also alleged that people involved in corruption are being released from courts after government interference .“Even the senior sitting judges are saying that democracy is in danger and that they had also raised this issue earlier with the chief justice but now have no option but to come out in the media. This matter should be taken on priority basis to protect democracy,” he added.
He refuted allegations that Congress was politicising the issue raised by the SC judges, saying ,“The B JP itself involved politics into the judiciary; the government should now answer the questions about interference in the judicial system.”
Tan war, during his first visit to Karna la ft er being asked by Congress president Rahul Gandhi to continue as the Haryana Congress president till further orders, was given a warm wel- come by party workers. Tanwar asked the partyworkers towork hard to strengthen the party.
Over the arrest of National Student Union of India’s leaders for allegedly disrupting a programme of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar in Panchkula, Tan war said that the chief minister should have answered the questions being asked by the youths.
“They need to answer the question. Right now only one student is asking the question; soon the entire state will ask questions to the BJP leaders,” he added.
He said that the state unit of the Congress will organ is eM an than Sh iv ir sin the state from January 15 and also start a bicycle yatra.
He said that the party leaders are united and there were no differences within the party.
Later, Ashok Tanwar also launched his bicycle rally from Yamunanagar with his supporters.
