JALANDHAR: The district administration on Saturday handed over the final voter lists for Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha segments, prepared after a special summary revision, to representatives of various political parties.

Handing over the lists to representatives of various political parties, election tehsildar Raj Kumar Tangri said that the lists have been prepared by the Election Commission (EC) of India after a thorough process carried out minutely in the district.

“The lists are available with the district election office, office of electoral registration officers and even with the booth-level officers at the respective polling booths. These lists could also be seen on the website ceopunjab.nic.in,” said Raj Kumar Tangri.

To facilitate the people and to get them enrolled as voters for participating in a democratic process more enthusiastically, the Election Commission has announced the schedule for special summary revision of photo electoral rolls for Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha assembly segments for the left-out eligible voters.

The claims and objections for the draft publication of rolls were received on November 15 to December 15 at the polling booths concerned or the offices of assistant registration officers.

As per the instructions of the ECI, the booth-level officers (BLOs) conducted a door-todoor survey of the voters from November 15 to December 15 for enabling more and more numbers to get registered as voters.
