Gangster claims cop offered him money to kill crime branch officer

The accused has named an ASI in connection with contract to kill a crime branch officer. He has accepted that he took money to kill the Gurgaon crime branch officer.

GURGAON: An alleged criminal lodged in Bhondsi jail on Friday told the Gurgaon police that he had allegedly accepted a contract to kill a crime branch officer from a policeman based in the city.

An amount of ₹25 lakhw as also agreed upon for the hit, accused Surender alias Sunda told the crime branch officers on Friday.

Surender, who is presently lodged in Bhondsi jail, in connection with murders and other crimes, was take non rem and for questionin­g in connection with a case, the police said.

Sources said Surender allegedly paid ₹2.5 lakh to the hired killers andkept ₹7.5lakh himself.

There main ing₹15lakhw as to be paid to Sure nd er after the contract was executed, an official said. The deal was struck in Jharsa, a police officer said.

Sumit Kuhar, DCP (crime) confirmed the developmen­t and said that the name of a serving policeman, who is under suspension, cropped up for giving con- tract to kill inspector Raj Kumar, in-charge crime branchSect­or 9.

“The accused has named an ASI in connection with contract to kill a crime branch officer. He has accepted that he took money to kill the G ur ga on crime branch officer. This is a very serious disclosure and the facts are being verified before any action is taken,” he said.

Sure nd er, an alleged gangster, was taken on remand by crime branch team of Sector 17 in connection with a case, and it was during questionin­g that he revealed about this deal to the police.

Surender is accused of five murders and is presently lodged in Bhondsi jail.

Recently, Surender’s complaint to the state vigilance department led to the arrest of A SI K rip a Ram, a jail official, who was allegedly demanding money from his wife in lieu of jail facilities.

The complaint on Surender’s behalf was lodged by Manish Bhardwaj, the mastermind in the fake arms licence racket.

The police officer, who has been named by the accused, has been under scanner for the last couple of years.

He was recently arrested for allegedly colluding with a top Delhi gangster lodged in B ho nd si jail to get a plot of land vacated.

The AS I is also related to aG urg a on gangster who was slain last year in an alleged gang war.
