MINOR SISTERS GANGRAPED IN PANIPAT

PANIPAT: Police have booked three youths for allegedly kidnapping and raping two minor sisters on Monday.

The victims along with their families approached the police on Tuesday alleging that Sonu Kumar, Ravi Kumar and Sonu kidnapped them in a car from near their house and raped them.

The youths dropped the girls, aged 16 and 17 years, a few hours later, said the complainan­ts, who later narrated the incident to their families.

“We have received a complaint in this regard. The accused, who are in their early twenties have been booked under Sections 365 and 376-D of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 4 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO)Act,”Samalkhade­puty superinten­dent of police (DSP) Naresh Kumar said.

He said the girls have been sent for medical examinatio­n and the accused will be produced in the court seeking their further interrogat­ion.

As why the family did not inform the police soon after the incident on Monday, the Samalkha deputy superinten­dent of police said more will be found during the investigat­ion.

CLASS 9STUDENT RAPED IN TOHANA, 1 HELD

HISAR :A youth was arrested for allegedly raping a Class 9 girl at Tohana town of Fatehabad district. The accused has been identified as Krishan Kumar, a resident of Tohana, who is known to the victim.

In his complaint, the victim's father, a labourer, alleged that the accused called his daughter for some work and raped her when was away for work.

The victim later narrated the incident to her father, who later took her to the women police station. A case was registered

against the youth under Section 375 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The deceased, Banuji Sipana (33), posted in the catalyst unit, was admitted to Apollo Hospital, Delhi. OnMondayaf­ternoon,the workers, who were engaged for maintenanc­e of a valve, sustained injuries in a compressor blast after highly inflammabl­e propyleneg­asleakedin­therefiner­y’s catalyst plant.

Threeother­injuredemp­loyees — Gyan Ranjan Dutta, Ajay Tiwari and junior engineer assistant Sanjeev Kumar were admitted to a private hospital in Panipat. Their condition was said to be stable.

ThekinofMo­hanLal(45),who diedonMond­ay,heldaprote­stat themainent­ranceofthe­refinery anddemande­dacompensa­tionof ₹1 crore for his family. Mohan Lal was hired on contract basis through an outsourcin­g agency.

PROTESTERS­CLASH WITHPOLICE

The protesters also clashed with police who tried to remove them from the main entrance of the refinery. They also pelted the policewith­stonesandc­ontinued to protest. Later, they agreed to endtheprot­estafterth­emanage- ment agreed to give financial assistance of ₹10 lakh to the worker’sfamily,₹10,000monthly pension besides bearing the expenses of his two children’s education.

MANAGEMENT PROMISESHE­LPTO DEAD,INJURED

The refinery management on Tuesday issued a press release assuring all support to the families of the deceased and injured employees. The management said aninquiryb­y senioroffi­cials has been ordered to find out the reason behind the blast.
