Shah to ride pillion for 600m with Barala, from helipad to rally venue
JIND : BJP national president Amit Shah, in whose welcome Haryana has rolled out a red carpet and will line up 1 lakh motorcycles from across the state, may not take a bike ride during his rally in Jind on Thursday.
Haryana BJP general secretary Sanjay Bhatia, who is the organiser of the Jind rally, told HT that the BJP chief will ride pillion with state BJP president Subhash Barala and will cover a mere 600 metres on the motorcycle.
“I don’t know if he (Shah) knows how to ride a bike, but since he is our guest, he will comfortably sit and state leaders will do the driving,” Bhatia added
ARRIVES ON CHOPPER
A helipad has been constructed for Shah’s helicopter in fields, just a few acres from the rally ground that is near the new bus stand site.
Shah is expected to cover the distance from the helipad to the rally ground on a motorcycle with a cavalcade following him.
He will sit with Barala; BJP national general secretary Ram Lal will ride pillion with chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar driving the bike.
Haryana BJP party in-charge Anil Jain will ride pillion with Yuva Morcha leader Manish Yadav.
Shah is expected to land in Jind around noon and start the BJP campaign for 2019 Lok Sabha and general assembly elections. Bikers from far-off places such as Mewat, Faridabad and Palwal had started reaching Jind on Wednesday evening.
30 PARAMILITARY COMPANIES DEPLOYED
As many as 30 paramilitary companies comprising 100 men each
have been deployed in Jind to check on law and order situation.
In Rohtak, from where around 40% of the bikers will pass to reach Jind, 13 companies of paramilitary
companies have been deployed and traffic diversions will remain in place.
