CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Cabinet that met under the chairmanship of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar here on Saturday approved to enhance the petty grant to members of council of ministers from ₹6 lakh to ₹25 lakh per annum from the current financial year.

Petty grant is the assistance given to the needy persons and institutions by the council of ministers.

The Cabinet also decided that the budget session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha will begin on March 5.

MRTS POLICY AMENDED

The Cabinet approved the amendment in the policy for innovative financing of mass rapid transit system (MRTS) projects.

As per the amendment, the ground coverage in the commercial-use cases has been increased to 60%.

However, other parameters regarding the parking and open space will remain unaltered.

The Haryana Building Code, 2017, allows the ground coverage of commercial projects up to 60% but the ground coverage was restricted to 50% in transit-oriented development (TOD) zone as per the policy.

Since, the permissible ground coverage in TOD policy for mixed land use and commercial use was not in consonance with the Haryana Building Code and the lesser ground coverage may have caused increase in the project cost, it has been decided to increase the same to 60% in the cases of commercial and mixed land use.

MARTYR’S WIDOW GIFTED PLOT

Haryana government also announced to gift a residential plot to the widow of a soldier, Mohd Sadik, who was killed in an anti-militancy operation in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Cabinet approved a proposal of Bijopur gram panchayat in Ballabhgarh block of Faridabad to gift a residential plot of 200 square yards to Mamuna, widow of martyr who died in ‘Operation Rakshak Jammu and Kashmir-2000’.

Approval to gift plot to Mamuna has been given keeping in view Rule 13 of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Rules.

PETTY GRANT IS USED FOR ASSISTANCE TO THE NEEDY PERSONS AND INSTITUTIONS, HIKED FROM ₹6 LAKH TO ₹25 LAKH PER ANNUM

DEPT NAME, SERVICE RULES AMENDED

Haryana government gave it nod to change the name of environment department to environment and climate change department.

The Cabinet further approved the amendments in the Haryana Architecture Technical (Group C) Service Rules notified on October 26, 1990. The rules will now be known as the Haryana Architecture Technical (Group C) Service (Amendment) Rules, 2018.
