4 OF FAMILY BURNT ALIVE IN KARNAL CAR CRASH
KARNAL: Four members of a family, including a sevenmonth-old girl, were burnt alive as the car they were travelling in caught fire after an accident on National Highway 1 near Shamgarh village of Karnal on Tuesday morning. The deceased have been identified as Sanchit Chopra, 25, his wife Bhavna Chopra, 24, mother-in-law Nisha, 48, and daughter Tusharik. The Delhi family was returning from Amritsar when the accident took place around 4am. Sanchit, who was driving the car, reportedly lost control over his vehicle which rammed into a truck coming from the opposite direction.

KARNAL: Four members of a family, including a seven-month-old baby girl, were burnt alive as the car they were travelling in caught fire after an accident on National Highway 1 near Shamgarh village of Karnal on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Sanchit Chopra, 25, his wife Bhavna Chopra, 24, his mother-in-law Nisha, 48, and his daughter Tusharik. Residents of Haripura in Delhi, they were returning from Amritsar when the accident took place around 4am on Tuesday. Sanchit, who was driving the car, reportedly lost control over the vehicle which jumped the divider and rammed into a truck coming from the opposite direction.
The car’s fuel tank exploded due to collision, leaving the passengers trapped inside. The locals immediately informed the police, but the car was already burnt by the time a fire tender arrived.
The police extracted the bodies from the car, and sent them to Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College in Karnal for postmortem. W
hen contacted Jan ak Raj, Tara ori police station in-charge said the car driver lost control and hit the truck coming from the opposite direction.
The police have informed the family members of the deceased.
