ADC who ‘insulted’ AAP MLA shifted; 3 DCs also shuffled

CHANDIGARH :A week after Faridkot additional deputy commission­er (ADC general) Keshav Hingonia allegedly insulted Kotkapura Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan, the state government on Wednesday transferre­d the IAS officer.

He has now been posted as additional secretary (home affairs, justice and jails).

A heated exchange of words was witnessed between the IAS officer and the MLA who had gone to the Faridkot deputy commission­er’s office with party workers to submit a memorandum seeking an inquiry into payments made under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) in the district. The MLA said Hingonia insulted him and did not stand up to receive the memorandum and also told him that he was not the government. The AAP has held demonstrat­ion against the officer.

The government also transferre­d eight other officers, including three deputy commission­ers.

Dharam Pal will be new Barnala DC, Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal has been posted as Mansa DC whereas Sanjay Popli will be new special secretary (welfare of schedule castes and backward classes).

Arvind Pal Singh Sandhu has been posted as (special secretary (home affairs, justice and jails) whereas Ghanshyam Thori has been transferre­d as Sangrur DC. MK Aravind Kumar will now be additional state transport commission­er whereas Vineet Kumar has been transferre­d as additional secretary (mines and geology) with additional director (mines and geology).

Harpreet Singh Sudan has been shifted as Patiala Developmen­t Authority chief administra­tor.
