SHIMLA: In the missing Poland youth case, the crime investigation department (CID) submitted a status report in a sealed cover in the Himachal Pradesh high court on Tuesday. After reading the report, the court summoned then Kullu SP Padam Chand on the next date of hearing April 11.

A Poland national Bruno Muschalik, 24, had gone missing while on a trek in Parvati valley of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh in August 2015.

The Polish national, according to his Facebook status, was supposed to go trekking in Parvati Valley on August 9.

His father Piotr Muschalik, 57, had filed a petition in the high court, saying that the drug mafias may be behind his son’s disappearance.

Piotr, professor of photography in the University of Katowice in Poland, anticipating crackdown on alleged drug mafia in the Kullu said he is still hopeful that he would find his missing son and will meet him again.

“I am hopeful to see my son but I don’t want any other youth to become ‘Bruno’. I hired one agency to probe the matter that hinted on links of drug mafia behind this,” Piotr said.

“I have full faith in the judiciary and I am sure I will get the justice. Initially, when I approached the police in Kullu, they did not take the case seriously,” he said

The FIR was registered only after the court ‘s intervention, he added.

“For me this case is not only related to my missing son but about all those who have gone missing in the Kullu valley,” Piotr said.

After the court gives next date, he (Piotr) always asks whether the investigation agency reaches close to my son, said Vandana Misra, petitioner’s advocate.
