PSEB TO NOW OFFER DIGITAL CERTIFICATES
MOHALI :The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) will offer students appearing for its exams in the 2018-19 academic session online, quick and reliable verification of academic awards, with prior consent of the student. The board has registered itself with National Academic Depository (NAD) — a 24X7 online store house of all academic certificates by academic institutions/boards. The NAD has the approval of the Union cabinet.
The PSEB will be able to permanently store all academic certificates on the NAD platform that would maintain the authenticity, integrity and confidentiality of the database.
The tie-up means that soon there would no need for issuing duplicate certificates or verification of academic certificates. The PSEB will also be able to counter the problem of forgery that plagues the issue of paper certificates.
The board has also entered into a tripartite agreement to upload around 8 lakh digital certificates of students, appearing for matriculation and senior secondary students.
STUDENTS WILL NEED TO REGISTER
To access digital certificates, students will have to register on the NAD platform by providing Aadhaar details or shall have to get a unique NAD ID, if Aadhaar is not available. To get unique NAD ID, the student shall have to register as non-Aadhar candidate. The online form generated shall be approved by district manager of the PSEB at the local office.
Then, the NAD ID shall be sent to candidates/ student’s registered email id. Student can view/ download digitally signed certificates, request printed copy of the certificate, approve/reject request or any verifier for access to his/her certificate.
Students and teachers will be trained on how to access digital certificates that the PSEB will upload on the NAD.
