Police said the incident took place on Friday afternoon, when victim’s parents had taken their younger son to a doctor, leaving their daughter behind.
The accused on finding the girl alone, lured her to his house. He then tied her hands and gagged her before raping and strangulating her to death, police said.

“The parents approached us to file a missing complaint and a we soon launched a search operation. The accused even tried to guide us and give directions about where he last saw the girl. However, we found his statements contradictory and felt a need to interrogate him, during which he confessed to his crime. We then searched his house and found the victim’s body hidden under a pile of clothes in an almirah,” the SHO added.
