Lightning kills three in West Bengal’s Bankura district

MIDNAPORE : At least three people were killed on Tuesday by lightning in Bankura district of West Bengal. The deceased are Abdul Ali Khan, 31, a vendor; and a mother-daughter duo, Lakshmi Majhi, 32, and Payel Majhi, 12, who had gone to their field to bring their cattle home. On Monday, as many as 45 tea garden workers, mostly women, were injured by lightning when they were working in Palasbari tea garden in Jalpaiguri district.
