KARNAL : Hundreds of complainants on Friday lined up for several hours to find redress of their grievances at chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s ‘Janta Darbar’ organised for the people of Karnal.

During the three-hour session, the CM could give a patient hearing to about 100 complainants, but about 330 complainants were instructed to hand over their written complaints.

Many of them returned disappointed as they alleged that it was wastage of time as they could not meet the CM after spending several hours in a queue. “I am not getting the widow pension even as I had applied for it about 8 months ago, but nobody allowed me to raise my issue with the CM as I did not have any written complaint,” said 56-year old Bimla Devi of Shamgarh village.

Mahender Singh of Chora Khalsa village, who had come for the redressal of his complaint which he also raised in chief minister’s last Janta Darbar in November 2017, said, “This time again the CM has given me assurances for assistance under the Indira Awas Yojana.”
