ROHTAK : The district wing of the All India Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) announced on Sunday, to boycott Haryana finance minister Captain Abhimanyu, issuing a whip to the Jats to not approach the minister or attend any of his programmes.

At a meeting of the district committee of the AIJASS at Jasia village, the Jat group passed a resolution to ‘end hookah paani’ (social boycott) of those found to be in touch with Abhimanyu or attending his programmes.

AIJASS directives come after two of its prominent activists were arrested last week by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the case of loot and arson at Abhimanyu’s house during the February 2016 Jat reservation stir.

“The minister is using his official influence on the CBI to arrest innocent youths. There were people who got killed during the agitation but no one is investigating that. Abhimanyu’s house has become the centre of attention for all investigation agencies,” the AIJASS said.

The Jat group further warned the government that it will launch a fresh agitation if anymore of their members were arrested by the police or the CBI.

The CBI in its chargesheet had indicted many members of the AIJASS for arson at Abhimanyu’s house. Last week, the premier agency arrested Pawan Hooda and Sombir Jasiya, two close aides of AIJASS chief Yashpal Malik, from Rohtak and Karnal. Another close aide of Malik, Ashok Balhara, faces arrest as his name is also in chargesheet.
