IF YOU LIVE LIFE WITH PURPOSE, YOU WON’T HAVE TO FEAR DEATH
Writing on death is one of my most favourite subjects. This is because I like the idea of death as much as I like the idea of birth.
Just as birth opens up a big world of possibilities, death also throws open a change that may be a blessing for us. After all, with death comes change, and change can bring in new perspectives and outlooks on life itself.
The most important thing about death is that it liberates you from all kinds of miseries and difficulties of life. That is why Socrates had said, “Death may be the greatest of all human blessings.”
One should realise that death is inevitable and that it is entirely up to us whether we do or don’t do certain good things in life. If you are a man of purpose and mission, death is not something to be scared of.
It comes only to give a happy end to a life that has seen a lot of good things done, and you welcome it when you see it coming your way.
Therefore, the fear of death in no way should exceed the need to live a beautiful life, full of joy and contentment. But for those who fail in their life’s mission and while away their precious time, there is much to be scared of, particularly if they believe that there is life after death.
After all, as Italian poet Michelangelo said, “death and love are the two wings that bear the good man to heaven.”
