ROHTAK: Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president Ashok Tanwar on Tuesday launched the fourth phase of his ‘Haryana Bachao, Parivartan Laao’ cycle yatra from Kundli border in Sonepat district.
Tanwar slammed the BJP governments at the Centre and in the state on various issues, including the alleged irregularities in Rafale deal, delay in metro project at Kundli, illegal mining in Yamuna, allege indecisiveness over the setting up of Bhim Rao Ambedkar Law University, “open auction of government jobs and deterioration in law and order situation.
Tanwar said Rafale deal was the biggest scam in defence purchase in the history of the country.
“Prime Minister Narender Modi kept the country in the dark and helped his friend Anil Ambani’s company by keeping HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd), government undertaking, out of the Rafale deal,” he said.
He added, “Under the UPA government, the cost of each Rafale plane was to be Rs 526 crore, whereas under the BJP regime the same plane is costing Rs 1570 crore,” he said.
He also accused the BJP government of adopting a step-motherly attitude towards Sonepat on the issue of Kundli-Metro rail track and Bhim Rao Ambedkar Law University. “This university was to be established under the Rajiv Gandhi Education City and the decision was taken during the Congress regime,” he added.
AMBULANCE STUCK IN JAM, NEWBORN CRITICAL
Meanwhile, an ambulance was stuck for around half an hour in the traffic jam caused due to Tanwar’s cycle yatra on GT Road in Kundli. Ambulance helper Amit Kumar said they were blowing the siren from a long time but the people in the yatra were not letting them pass.
The ambulance had a premature delivered child who required immediate assistance. After around 30 minutes, the ambulance found the way to reach a hospital in Kundli, which referred the child to the PGIMS, Rohtak, in a critical condition.
