Didn’t meet CM on Aug 26, Sukhbir lying: Daduwal
BATHINDA : The parallel jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib, Baljit Singh Daduwal, on Wednesday, refuted Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal’s allegations that he had met Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh at his residence in Chandigarh on August 26.
“On June 6, the CM had met me and a delegation of organisations spearheading the Bargari protest. SAD leaders are circulating a photograph of that meeting of the CM with the delegation as proof that I have met the CM on August 26,” Daduwal claimed, adding that Sukhbir had been spreading falsehoods about him.
He added, “Sukhbir has also alleged that Pakistan’s InterServices Intelligence (ISI) deposited ₹16 crore in my bank account. This is false. Sukhbir should either prove this or apologise for leveling false allegations.”
Daduwal hailed the Punjab assembly’s resolution of taking back the probe into sacrilege incidents and police firing at protesters from the CBI. “The Punjab government should act against all those found guilty in the commission’s report.”
Meanwhile, a daily diary report (DDR) has been registered at the Baja Khana police station against SAD leaders for alleged disrespect of the name of ‘Guru Granth Sahib’ during their protest against Justice Ranjit Singh (retired) commission report.
SAD (Amritsar) leader Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala had complained to the police that by crushing the commission’s report that had ‘Guru Granth Sahib’ written on it several times, under their feet ‘deliberately’, SAD leaders had shown disrespect to the name.
