Main accused in Goindwal clash held from Amritsar

FOUR PEOPLE HAD BEEN KILLED IN A GANG WAR IN GOINDWAL VILLAGE ON MONDAY; POLICE FORM 10 TEAMS TO ARREST THE REMAINING FIVE ACCUSED

TARN TARAN : Four days after a gang war left four dead at Goindwal village, around 25km from the district headquarte­rs, police arrested one of the six accused, Rubal Singh aka Bhola, of Hansawala village, from a private hospital in Amritsar.

The complainan­t in the case, Sukhwinder Kaur, is the mother of one of the four victims, Gurjant Singh. She had told the police that one of the those dead, Sahilpreet, and one of the six accused, Prabhjit, had been nursing an enmity for the past few months as both wanted to contest panchayat election from Hansawala against each other.

The four killed in Monday’s clash are Sahilpreet of Hansawala village; Gurjant Singh aka Janta, of Dhunda village; Arshdeep Singh of Khadoor Sahib, and Dalbir Singh aka Bira, of Goindwal Sahib.

Rubal and five others; gangster Iqbal Singh Afridi, of Fatehabad, Prabhjit Singh, of Hansawala, Gursewak Singh aka Bomb, of Goindwal Sahib, Pargat Singh, of Kotli Sarukha, and Robinjit Singh of Hansawala were booked.

SSP Darshan Singh Mann said, “Rubal has told police that a few days ago, Sahilpreet thrashed his father. He has also confessed that he opened fire at Sahilpreet .We have formed 10 teams under the supervisio­n of senior police officers to arrest the other five accused.”
