Pass ‘referendum’ resolution or face music, SFJ warns GK

CHANDIGARH: US-based pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) has warned Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) to pass a resolution to support “Referendum 2020” or its president Manjit Singh GK won’t be allowed to visit the US, Canada, European Union the UK or any other foreign country.

“SFJ believes in ballot not bullet, is seeking referendum through votes not violence. @ManjitGK Political activities are against the laws of US, Canada which does not allow foreign political entities to influence citizens while visiting those countries,” tweeted Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, legal adviser to the SFJ. No politician from India will be allowed to propagate antiKhalistan agenda on foreign shores, he said.

GK has been on the hit list of the of pro-Khalistani activists. On August 26, GK was attacked by a group of 25 people outside Yuba City Gurdwara in California. This was the second attack on GK in the US within a week. On August 21, he was attacked by Khalistani supporters in New York. GK blamed Pannun and members of “Referendum 2020” for carrying out the attack on him at the behest of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Speaking to ANI on Sunday, GK said: “Pannun and members of Referendum 2020 left no stones unturned to kill me in California.” Though GK escaped, the attackers managed to relieve him of his turban in Yuba City.

“We will fight with the help of the constitution and these organisations are funded by ISI, I am not afraid of their threats,” GK said. Earlier on August 12, ProIndia and pro-Khalistan groups were engaged in a noisy face-off during an event to call for a so-called “referendum” for the independence of Punjab at London’s Trafalgar Square.
