A VIDEO OF BHAUR ALLEGEDLY USING OBJECTIONABLE LANGUAGE AGAINST RAMANAND DASS IS BEING SHARED ON SOCIAL MEDIA

NAWANSHAHR: Members of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Shri Guru Ravidass Welfare trust held a protest outside the district and sessions court on Monday.

The BSP members demanded the addition of Section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion) in the first information report (FIR) registered against the former Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) general secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhaur, who was arrested in Friday.

A video is being shared widely on social media of Bhaur allegedly using objectionable language against Dera Sachkhand Ballan leader Ramanand Dass in his speech.

Following which, members of the trust gheraoed his house in Banga. Ramanand, a follower of Guru Ravidass, was murdered in the Austrian city of Vienna in 2009. State general secretary of BSP Nachhatar Pal said that Bhaur has hurt the religious sentiments of the community.

“The police should add Section 153A section in the FIR otherwise we will intensify the protest,” he said.

Protesters have also handed over a memorandum to SSP Nawanshahr Dipak Hilori for adding the Section. The next hearing of the bail application of Bhaur is on Thursday.
