June 28, 2018: Nun lodges complaint with Kerala Police that she was sexually assaulted by bishop Franco Mulakkal for 13 times from 2014-16. Case registered.

June 30: Case registered, SIT constituted under Vaikkom DSP K Subash

Aug 10-12: Kerala Police team arrives in Jalandhar and records statements of nuns and church fathers.

Aug 13: Kerala Police record statements of Mulakkal and seize his mobile phone, laptop and other documents.

Sept 7: Nuns in Kerala take to the streets demanding the bishop's arrest

Sept 10: Kerala high court directs the government to file an affidavit detailing steps taken on nun's complaint Sept 14: Mulakkal receives summons served by Jalandhar police on the behalf of Kerala police asking the former to appear before the investigation team on Sept 19

Sept 15: Bishop appointed vicar general Mathew Kokkandam to administer the Jalandhar Diocese.

Sept 16: Bishop wrote to Pope Francis, expressing desire to step aside temporarily.

Sept 18: Bishop leaves for Kerala to join probe and files anticipatory bail plea in Kerala high court. Hearing on bail plea adjourned to September 25. Sept 19: Bishop appears before Kerala Police and grilled for over seven hours

Sept 20: Pope, Catholic Bishop Conference of India temporarily relieve Mulakkal of his pastoral responsibilities and appoint Bishop Agnelo Rufino Gracias as the apostolic administrator of the diocese of Jalandhar
