All promises of the govt have fallen flat. We have demanded that there should be 50% reservation in jobs for Haryana youth in the private sector. DUSHYANT CHAUTALA, Hisar MP
CHANDIGARH: Seeking employment for educated youth of the state, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) MP from Hisar, Dushyant Chautala, submitted a memorandum to Haryana governor Satyadeo Narain Arya, on Monday.
Dushyant accused the ruling BJP government of going back on its promise to the state’s youth made during campaigning for the 2014 polls to reserve 25% jobs in the private sector for youth from the state. It had also promised a monthly allowance of ₹6,000 and ₹9,000 to unemployed Class-12 pass, and graduates left unemployed, respectively, in lieu of 100-hour parttime jobs.
“All promises have fallen flat. We have demanded that there should be 50% reservation in jobs for Haryana youth in the private sector. In Himachal Pradesh, industrial houses reserve at least 70% jobs for local bona fide residents and in Maharashtra, this was 50%,” he claimed.
He alleged that a mere 20% of the advertised posts had been filled during the past four years, though the government had collected lakhs of rupees in the name of application forms. “The government has advertised 64,013 posts, but filled only 13,551 posts,” he said.
