Even though Navjot Kaur Sidhu was chief parliamentary secretary in the last tenure, she never took any steps to enhance pension.

JALANDHAR: Striking back on former member of legislative assembly Navjot Kaur Sidhu, who recently gave 4 out 10 to the Congress in terms of performance in an interview, state scheduled caste and backward caste welfare minister Sandhu Singh Dharamsot said Navjot should not have switched to the Congress from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) if she thinks it was more efficient.

“The Congress has enhanced pensions from ₹500 to ₹750 per month and initiated social welfare schemes for the people. The party is fulfilling the promises that it made, unlike Akalis who did nothing in ten years. Even though Navjot was chief parliamentary secretary in the last tenure, she never took any steps to enhance pension,” said Dharamsot. “She does not hold a good rapport with any minister. Before making a negative remark on the party that she is currently representing, she should have considered the development that the party has brought in since it came to power in the state,” he added.

Cabinet minister Dharamsot was here to attend a special camp under the Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna (MGSVY).
